How do you completely remove pink fingernail polish from a new pair of white Nike shoes?

My Algebra teacher spilled a container of pink fingernail polish on her counter top which got all over her the pair of her new white Nike shoes. I suggested that she should bleach them so the white would be come whiter and the pink would be gone. Although I'm not sure if this is correct, and don't want her to ruin her shoes. What should I tell her to do?|||Bleach is unlikely to help. Tell her to use nail polish remover (or acetone).
