Does Ipod nike work with different running shoes?

I need to know whether or not the Ipod Nike or the new Nike Band would work without having a nike shoe? i dont want to spend too much on nike shoe when i already have perfectly good overpriced adidas running shoes..|||Yes, it does work with other shoes. The only difference is that the indications given off my the Nike Transmitter may be a bit off. All you have to do is put it onto the tongue of your shoe. Hope everything works out!! :D|||they have ipods on shoes now?!?!??!
